Your enquiry does not need to be complete, tidy or technical. Send a photo of the part, a sketch with a few dimensions on it, a broken component, an existing STL, or a sentence describing what the thing has to do — that is enough for us to start. You do not need to own a CAD file, a scanner or any design software before you write to us. We look at what you send, say plainly whether it can be modelled from, list any measurements that are still missing, and quote the project. If you also want the part printed, that is quoted as a separate line, so you can decide later.

How the finished files are delivered

SwissTransfer is our default for a larger final package: we create a download link and send it to you from [email protected]. You do not need a SwissTransfer account to download the files. Download the package promptly and keep your own backup, because transfer links are temporary.

If another service is easier for your team, we can also use Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or WeTransfer. Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox are useful when a project needs a shared folder or a longer-lived working copy; WeTransfer is convenient for a smaller one-off package.

Do I need a CAD file before I ask for a quote?
No. A CAD file is a convenience, not a requirement. A photo of the part from a few angles, a hand sketch with two or three dimensions on it, or the broken part itself are all workable starting points, and most projects we quote begin exactly there. If the geometry cannot be established from what you send, we tell you which measurements to take rather than asking you to draw the part.
What should I include with my enquiry?
Send what you already have rather than what you think we want: photographs, a sketch, an STL, a scan, or a written description of what the part has to do and the space it has to fit into. Mention whether you also need the part printed, and say if there is a deadline you are working towards. Anything you leave out, we will ask for specifically instead of asking you to start over.
How quickly will I hear back?
Our reply target is within 3 hours. That first reply tells you whether the information you sent is enough to model from and, when it is, gives you a project price for the work. Standard projects are typically completed in 2–8 business days, and the schedule for your particular part is confirmed once we have seen it.
How is the price worked out?
Modelling projects start at $100. Above that, the price follows the part: how many separate pieces are involved, how complex the surfaces are, how much of the geometry can be read from what you send, and which deliverable formats you need. Multi-part models, assemblies, reverse engineering, complex surfaces, colour preparation, rendering, engineering consultation, prototype printing and production are quoted separately.
Can I get a quote for modelling only, without printing?
Yes, and it is the more common request. The model is the deliverable; printing is an optional next step. Ask for modelling only and the quote covers the files. Ask for both and you get two lines, so you can see what a printed part adds before deciding whether you want it from us or from your own machine.
How will I receive the finished 3D model files?
After the model is approved, we package the agreed STL, STEP, 3MF or editable CAD files and email you a download link. For larger file packages, we can send a SwissTransfer link instead. You download the files from the link and keep a copy in your own project folder.
